Calvià. Port Adriano, 13 August 2019
Tony Hadley, the former lead singer of the legendary Spandau Ballet band, performed last Friday, August 9th, within the 7th Port Adriano Music Festival.
Hadley, very close and elegant reviewed all the hits of the emblematic British band of the 80s, to the delight of all the fans there present with an hour and a half of magnificent concert, with that voice so recognizable and very fit at his 59 years.
There were always hits like “Only when you leave”, “Lifeline”, “Through the barricades” and of course the unforgettable “True”. The golden brooch was for “Gold” hummed by all the public.
Born and raised in London, Hadley thought his future was in medicine until when he was a young man he won a holiday singing contest and decided his vocation was to sing… The rest is history! Tony led the 80’s “New Romantic” band, Spandau Ballet, earning the praise of being one of the best vocalists in pop music. By the mid-1980s they were world superstars, yet relationships broke down and the band split in 1990.
Tony Hadley takes it easy on the transition from Spandau Ballet to his retaken identity as a soloist. He splashes his concerts with debut songs that combine well with classics that he has no intention of giving up. Hadley, a vigorous romantic gallant, capable of taking on stages like the Port Adriano Music Festival.
For those who were lucky enough to come and say hello to him at the Backstage, we leave the photos for you to keep as a great treasure:
Thanks Tony! Come back soon.
